Airport Field Maintenance Electrician (Maintenance Electrician) (Job Opening ID #522313)

Full-time position available with the Aviation Department, Field Maintenance Division, located at 154 Tokyo Street.

Normal Workdays/Hours: Monday - Friday 7:00 a.m.-3:30 p.m. with mandatory overtime during inclement weather and emergencies.

Job Responsibilities:

• Performs work in all phases of electrical maintenance, installation, trouble shooting, and repair of high voltage circuitry

• Repairs and rebuilds a variety of components and lighting fixtures associated with airfield lighting and street lighting

• Operates heavy equipment that is used in the repair of direct buried circuitry, emergency snow removal and maintains such equipment

• Must be able to stand/kneel/walk for extended periods of time, lift 50 lbs. repeatedly and work outside in all types of weather

• Operates heavy snow removal equipment on the air operations area during emergency snow removal events

• Must be able to communicate in English and operate a two-way radio for such communication

• Performs other duties as assigned

REQUIRES high school graduation and three (3) years of progressively responsible experience performing routine and moderately complex electrical maintenance and repair work; OR an equivalent combination of qualifying education and experience. Must possess a valid state-issued driver's license in accordance with City of KCMO policies .May be required to possess a valid MO Class A, B, or C CDL prior to the end of the probationary period as determined by the department. Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and post-offer physical examination as prescribed by the City.

Salary Range: $26.10 - $29.82/hour
