This is a Pilot course delivery. The training provider, NCBRT is in the process of recertifying this course for FEMA (MGT-409) and there have been significant updates to the course.
Overview
When an entire community is affected by a large-scale incident involving mass casualties such as a natural disaster, a pandemic outbreak, or a terrorist attack, response activities require integration of emergency management, healthcare providers, public health officials, public safety officials, and other agencies operating in a community. Large-scale incidents are likely to overwhelm healthcare systems and communities must work together to address the needs of an overwhelming number of patients. Supporting Healthcare in Disasters: A Community Approach will prepare communities to effectively plan for, respond to, and recover from this type of scenario.
Target Audience:
Healthcare providers, clinical leadership, non-clinical supervisors, liaison officers, hospital safety and emergency planning and preparedness, home healthcare and human services, public health, community health centers, emergency management, EMS, mental health professionals, fire departments and law enforcement.
Course Objectives:
There is no cost to attend. Lunch and refreshments are on your own each day.
A FEMA SID number is required for registration. You can look up your FEMA SID, or register for a new one, at the following site: https://cdp.dhs.gov/femasid.
