Join the MARC Solid Waste Management District (SWMD) at its next Management Council Meeting to learn about the state of food waste in our region. The district will give an overview of Kansas City Food Wise (KCFW), a regional effort to reduce food waste, increase access to healthy food and build a sustainable food system. KCFW partner organizations, Pete’s Garden, KC Can Compost, Kanbe’s Markets, and Johnson County Department of Health and Environment, will talk about how their organizations are reducing food waste while addressing food insecurity.
