Presenters:
Complete Streets are designed to support the mobility and safety of all users of all abilities, but what about those with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) or intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDDs)? This session explores emerging research from New Jersey on the transportation experiences of neurodivergent individuals, highlighting barriers, needs, and opportunities for more inclusive design. Attendees will be introduced to the 2025 report Advancing Complete Streets for Neurodivergent Individuals: A Primer, which outlines key findings, recommendations, and New Jersey’s 2023 legislation supporting inclusive infrastructure. The session also features expert interviews and a compelling video of a graduate from the NJ Travel Independence Program, offering a firsthand look at navigating daily travel challenges on foot.
There is no cost to attend, but registration is required to receive login credentials.
