The Sport and Special Event Public Information and Emergency Notification course brings planners, operators, public information professionals, government, public safety, and marketing professionals together to prepare and/or enhance venue and event communication programs. The course prescribes best practices to common communication pitfalls and provides flexible and scalable solutions to a wide range of scenarios. The training leverages a combination of exercises, discussions, and activities to optimize participant experience. This training is applicable across the United States regardless of the venue size, capacity, or type of event. Those who complete this course can use this training to develop or improve public information and emergency notification programs for any sport or special event venue.

There are no course prerequisites for this course but recommended training:
FEMA / SID Number. Students must have a FEMA Student Identification Number (SID) to attend class. You can look up your FEMA SID, or register for a new one, at the following site: https://cdp.dhs.gov/femasid.
Please note that all non-U.S. citizens who wish to attend must be pre-approved by DHS before the start of class. Individuals will need to bring their photo ID to attend the course.
