The countdown to the 2026 World Cup soccer tournament is underway. Are your crisis communications plans ready for game day? Join us for an upcoming webinar on best practices in crisis communications during disaster and large-scale events

Hundreds of thousands of visitors will descend on Kansas City for World Cup 2026, and cities and counties across the region, along with emergency response agencies, hospitals and health care systems, are preparing to help keep communities safe. Large crowds in tight areas, highly utilized transit systems and language barriers will require effective, real-time communication to ensure public safety and seamless emergency response.

On Wednesday, Jan. 14, Sgt. Kate Stegall, public information officer with the Louisiana State Police, will discuss the importance of proactive planning and collaboration before and during large-scale events. Sgt. Stegall will highlight the agency’s communications response to unprecedented public safety challenges across Louisiana in 2025, including the New Orleans Bourbon Street terrorist attack, historic winter weather, Super Bowl LIX and Mardi Gras.
