MGT 412: Sport Venue Evacuation and Protective Actions

The Sport and Special Event Evacuation and Protective Actions course helps sport and special event managers prepare and/or enhance their event action plan through incorporation of flexible and scalable protective measures. These measures can be used in isolation or in response to a larger, multi-agency response initiative.

This course helps venue operators, first responders, emergency managers, law enforcement, contractors, promoters, and owners of events to collaborate on evacuation and sheltering plans with actionable decision criteria that can be adapted for almost any event. Course topics include: Organizing Stakeholders, Protective Action Planning, Decision-Making Process, Communicating Protective Action Movements, Training, Exercise, and Equipment Requirements

Travel costs are not provided.
Course maximum: 50

There are no course prerequisites for this course but recommended trainings are:

AWR-167: Sport and Special Event Risk Management and Planning (or equivalent experience)
IS-100: Introduction to Incident Command System (ICS)
IS-200: ICS for Single Resources and Initial Action Incidents
IS-700: National Incident Management System (NIMS), An Introduction
IS-800: National Response Framework, An Introduction

FEMA / SID Number. Students must have a FEMA Student Identification Number (SID) to attend class. You can look up your FEMA SID, or register for a new one, at the following site: https://cdp.dhs.gov/femasid.
